Founded in 2016, mc2h foundation is an independent Swiss foundation that supports community-based organisations in West Africa to drive positive change in their children’s education.

It was founded on three premises:

• That education is the single most effective tool we can provide for children of Africa to thrive and break out of the cycle of poverty they find themselves.
• That lasting education gains only happen when communities shape their own solutions.
• And that philanthropic support is most effective when given with trust versus control.

To date, mc2h has supported 15 organisations, across 3 countries, reaching nearly a million children, with a laser focus on driving sustainable, locally-led education changes in children’s education.

Alongside our grant-making, we are also deeply committed to challenging top-down philanthropic models, and investing in approaches that build agency, ownership, and long-term local capacity.
